Cold and Flu
A common cold can be caused by more than 200 viruses. Seasonal flu is caused by influenza A or influenza B viruses. These two most common infections of the respiratory system are often confused. But there are some important differences. Cold symptoms are usually mild and last 2 to 5 days after exposure. Symptoms include fever, runny nose, sneezing, sore throat and/or coughing. Flu symptoms are more severe and may persist longer. Flu, like the common cold is caused by a virus, so antibiotics won't work to relieve the symptoms. The following supplements can be helpful in supporting the immune system when these viruses strike.
