ORAC Value
Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity (ORAC) is a unit value assigned by researchers to measure the antioxidant value of a given food. Foods with a high ORAC value are beneficial to the body by increasing plasma antioxidant levels. Since these values are difficult to substantially influence within the body, an increase in plasma antioxidants is significant. Fruits and vegetables have a unique combination of antioxidants that have proven better than supplementation with individual antioxidant vitamins.
