Thyroid Support

The thyroid gland is a small gland, normally weighing less than an ounce, located in the front of the neck.  Its function is the production of the thyroid hormones, thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3).  Every cell in the body depends on these two hormones for regulation of their metabolism.  These hormones also regulate the metabolism of protein, fat and carbohydrates. Various products can be helpful in providing nutrients, which support thyroid hormone production. In particular, selenium can be helpful in the conversion of T4 to T3, which is the active form of thyroid, which is required by the cell.
